I have long had the passion and have refined the expertise to assess organizations, their cultures, HR functions and HR processes. In doing so, I enjoy providing advice and counsel to executive leaders to implement solutions aligned with business need and to assess, recruit, retain and upgrade the talent needed to deliver those solutions.

As a result of extensive work experience, specialized training and formal education, I possess a unique perspective that combines business acumen with an understanding of team dynamics and ability to provide objective talent assessments. I have the ability to assess key strengths and development needs of executives, enabling me to coach executive leaders effectively so they can make the right organizational and talent decisions.

My empathetic, straightforward approach to both facilitation and coaching enables my clients to work through difficult business and talent situations, where they receive advice and counsel in a confidential and supportive manner.

This work has been consistently effective because I…

  • Invest the time and energy to learn about your industry and your specific business
  • Use only practical, not academic, examples as guidance
  • Maintain absolute confidentiality, so our discussions can be frank and productive
  • Ask key questions to understand your specific challenges
  • Listen, listen, listen
  • Keep a sense of humor

These same skills enable me to facilitate groups of employees who are experiencing everything from higher levels of tension to outright conflict. When organizations become dysfunctional, when employees are feuding or otherwise obstructing each other’s best efforts, I am able to expose the misunderstandings or resentments and resolve the situations because my approach is organized, practical, non-threatening and frequently entertaining.

Kim was an integral member of our Executive Team for approximately six months, in which time the company was sold to an India-based global agrochemicals firm. She was a core member of our Global Integration team, focused on HR Function deliverables. These efforts included Compensation design initiatives, such as Retention, Incentive, and Severance as well as mapping and recommendation of core HR processes. She also provided ongoing HR Leadership to execute the company’s annual Talent Management, Performance Management and Compensation Planning processes. Kim stepped into an unstructured, decentralized global HR function. She rapidly organized the team, improved the credibility of the HR function in the organization, and mentored the HR organization for improvement.

Kim provided Executive HR leadership to Materia for approximately one year. In that time, she conducted a comprehensive Organization and HR Assessment. Based on this assessment, she implemented core HR processes, including performance management, incentive compensation plans, and a market-based compensation job-banding structure. She also partnered with me to realign the organization structure, establishing focused Commercial, Technology, and Operations functions along with upgrading talent in key executive leadership positions. We maintained a cohesive partnership in which I trusted her expertise, insights and pragmatic approach.

Nitin Apte
President and CEO
Materia, Inc.

Kim functioned as the interim Chief Human Resources Officer of our company for ten months. During that time, she successfully positioned Human Resources as a strategic function within the organization. She was instrumental in designing and leading many of our organization-wide change initiatives, including performance management, organization design, reward programs, and employee communication initiatives. Her efforts have laid the foundation for continued organization growth and talent development. I relied on her sound judgment and advice on many topics.

David Davis
Chief Executive Officer

Kim has provided excellent support to our company in the US during the course of 2017 assisting us in a period of transition within both the business and the HR function. Kim is very client focused, providing timely and informed advice. She works quickly and accurately, being able to get to the heart of issues, devise pragmatic actions, engage stakeholders, and work to positive outcomes. I would be happy to work with Kim again, whether that is at the strategic change level or in relation to individual case work.

Kim is a talented, experienced global HR executive and has a rare ability to learn a business quickly and apply the right solutions. As an interim global HR consultant, she identified key priorities, worked collaboratively across functions, and put the fundamentals in place. With organizational design, she has an ability to dive thoughtfully into the details and then lay out an overall plan that is simplified, effective, and actionable.
